Philippe Ferragne wanted to acquire botanical skills for himself personally, but also to raise the awareness by local people of the presence of remarkable orchids near the place where they live and of the need to preserve them. He therefore mounted a project for an exhibition of the orchids of Loupian, Occitanie, and southern Europe.
To do that, 140 species were photographed and 20 exhibited on pictures and panels at the Loupian media library in 2020.
The Biotope Business Foundation for Biodiversity chose not only to support that project financially but also to accompany the exhibition with a conference given by Frédéric Melki, orchid specialist and the Foundation’s president.
